Bungie's Community Manager Eric Osborne posted a letter on the company's website this past weekend bidding the Halo universe farewell. The letter is a tribute to all the support that the company has recived over the past 20 years and specifically the past 10 years of Halo.
Japanese corporation Tomita Technologies is suing Nintendo for patent infringement of the technology used in the Nintendo 3DS. The glasses-free stereoscopic 3D screen seems to have been invented by Seijiro Tomita who applied for the patent in March 2003 in New York.
Yesterday a German website called Konsolentreff showed some early images of a Resistance 3 bundle that showed a PSN Pass logo on the side of the box. The logo indicated that the features of PSN Pass are only available where the PlayStation Store is available. Clarification on what exactly PSN Pass is came today when Sony Computer Entertainment of America commented saying that the new program will require customers to input a one time code to gain the online capabilities of the game. This is similar to the program that EA introduced last year called EA Online Pass.
According to Digitimes, a Taiwanese manufacturing company claims that Foxconn and Pegatron, the companies who manufactured the PS3, are set to begin the process of building the Playstation 4. The site also states that the PS4 will have controller-less interfaces similar to Microsoft's Kinect. According to the sources, Sony will roll the PS4 out in 2012 with 20 million units available at launch.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was originally announced at E3 2009 with a release date of 2010 but was pushed back due to difficulties in the development cycle. It seems as though Nintendo is wanting to take a different route with this game without making sacrifices to core game play mechanics.
